Finals Week

School is almost out and you know what that means, it’s almost time for finals. These upcoming days are full of stressing, studying and lots of caffeine. It’s almost impossible to keep sane during the upcoming week, but here are some free tips to help you cope with the stress.

Turn it off- We all love our phones and believe we need our apps, but we don’t. simply turn off your phone, tv or any other electronics to keep yourself focused while studying.

Work with a group- While you may not be able to be extremely social at this time, human interactions are still important. Try working in groups so you have someone to talk to, but can also keep studying.

Take breaks- Nobody’s brain is programmed to work 24/7, so make sure to take the occasional break. Studies show that people that take 20 minute breaks about every hour or so are more productive in the long run.

Stay healthy- Don’t get so caught up you forget to eat. Eating healthy food and drinking plenty of water is key to staying alert and focused.

Find your space- Make sure you know what study locations work for you and which don’t. If you know you can’t study in your apartment, move locations. Just because everyone is flocking to the library does not mean you have to, locate an area that works for you and your study habits.

Sleep- While pulling all-nighters and trying to cram in every possible moment to study, you may be doing more harm than good. Our brains need to recharge in order to reach their full potential. Even if it’s just for a few hours, make sure to sleep every night.

These are just a few ideas to help keep you going throughout exams week. Finals can be a stressful time, but it will be over soon. Good luck!
